First do you have them inside a fence duckies? in summer preds can still snatch our babies but in winter when their normal food supply is hibernating boy they will be looking for an easy meal.So I'debating getting duck diapers for the kids in the winter but, my DH isn't in agreement with me. Is it OK to let them outside in the winter, I have their "bedroom" in the basement but after their breakfast they go outside running around the yard all day, they have never tried to leave the yard, I dont have to babysit them. But I want them to have room to wander in the winter, not stay in their pen 24/7 so I've heard they go out in the snow yet I've also been told about their little legs getting frost bite. @miss Lydia I always listen to you lol any advice? Sorry to bug you
Yes mine come out in winter even when it is snowing and bitter cold. They have down under their feathers. and they mostly lay on their legs and feet to keep them warm. I have put up wind breaks for everyone to get behind and most use them and their doors to their houses are open but even on really bitter days they choose to stay outside.
Your not bugging me at all. If yours have access to their house they may choose to stay in on really cold days I'd give them the option .Every duck is different.
