Pekin Duck Club!

Could you get a picture of them from the side?  From what I can see - it looks like at least two of them have a curl on their tail.  It's hard to tell because of all the fluffy white!  :) So I would think the upper two might be male, and maybe one of the bottom two as well - it's hard to tell.

I'd have to agree, I see 3 curly lil boys. It's hard to tell in the picture

My husband called me at work after he got home, JoJo didn't touch his feed. He gave him mealworms which he annihilated. I just got home and brought him upstairs, made him rice with mealies. He ate it all. He didn't poop to much but I think it has to do with not eating. But I'm so scared, he just stands in front of the mirror I got him all day. I put his food and water in front of the mirror hoping it will help. He's scared to death of any stuffed animal near him so that doesn't work. I'm hoping this diaper comes soon. I am so petrified the same thing will happen to him as charlie bc I don't know what happened!!!

I don't want to say nothing is wrong, but the day after Michele died, Romy started having the same symptoms! I rushed her to the vet. There was nothing apparently wrong. I feel Romy just was grieving. I spent a bit of extra time with her, would not let her go off on her own to sulk. She pulled through it, though it was rough - the Runners were not very friendly toward her at that time. Very slowly, she improved, and now she and Acht are BFFs. Acht is a black Runner.

Keep talking with him about it. I think that kind of attention may help.

I in my heart believe he is just grieving… I don't want to be wrong!

I truly am and I love it when you post pictures.  It does something to me.  Your pair is always so cute in the photos.  I love the one of Henry stretching his neck into the bucket with his right eye kinda looking at you.  His body is beautiful.  And here he is peacefully sitting.  He is so healthy.  Can you post a couple pics on your ganders?  I think they are adorable, too.  Do you still keep them separated from the ducks for Hazel's safety?
Sorry for such a late reply. We were out of town seeing family I haven't seen since I was little... Don't worry, we had a bird sitter come to our house! Lol!

I will go out tomorrow and get some new pictures of the boys for you. We still keep them seperate. Hazel and Henry are at breeding age now and their hormones are making them CRAZY!!! When I went in to put the ducks away tonight Henry flew straight up at my face! He's never done anything like that before! No one got hurt but he startled me pretty good. Stinker!

I hope you and your little precious finches are well... :)

3:30 in the morning, checked on JoJo, hr hasn't ate. I gave him some mealies again which he tore up. They are my tester bc my ducks love mealies but charlie wouldn't even eat those, so as long as JoJo is still crushing them I believe he's alright just taking the loss badly. He don't move from the mirror for a second but I'm afraid if I take it away from him then he's gonna think he lost another companion and lose his mind. I'm upset bc everyone at work kept telling me JoJo isn't gonna make it without charlie. That's. ********, it will be hard on us but he'll pull through. Right? But what do I do about the mirror? And he can't live off of mealworms.

The people you work with don't have any way of knowing that, and I don't understand why say things to upset you. JoJo has had two huge changes recently, and ducks are very much creatures of habit. It's not at all unusual for them to refuse food or be very picky about it even when less traumatic things happen. I'm not surprised he doesn't move from the mirror. He's probably scared from being in an unfamiliar place, so he's sticking very close to the only thing that seems familiar to him.

It's a good sign that he's eating mealworms, but of course he can't live on nothing but protein. Have you tried chopping some greens to put in a water dish for him? When ducks are refusing their normal feed, they'll often still eat their favorite treats. You can also give him peas or any other healthy treat he likes to help balance out his diet. It would also be a good idea to get him a supplement as Amiga suggested. Do you have a Tractor Supply Company store anywhere near you? Some of those carry poultry Nutri-Drench in the store. That's a great supplement for times like this, and the fact that it's used by mixing it with water makes it a good choice for you.
