Pekin Duck Club!

That's going to be really nice, and I'm so glad they have a good home!

Odd about the bathtub thing. I'm trying to figure out why anyone would bury a bathtub in the backyard.
We found an old cast iron bathtub in one of our barns when we bought this place. It looks like someone was using it to mix concrete in...go figure. Anyway, we have discussed digging a pit, filling it with rick and sand sort of like a leach field and burying the tub as a "pond" for our ducks. Maybe they did something like that and it just filled in over the years.

I was a little scared when we were pulling black pieces of plastic like garbage bag, but I think you are right about that they tried to line the bottom with plastic.

OK here's Lily's feet. One pic of her good foot and the other two pics are her bad foot. I thought it was just dirt caked and real dry rough calloused skin. It looks alt better since I got her but its still horrible. I noticed today she's not waddling real bad, she's actually limping. When I held up both her feet and my dh looked he could see the difference and how swollen the bad foot was. I immediately soaked it in warm Epsom salt water, applied antibiotic. Wrapped it, taped it. And I just got back from the store and got more gauze, vet wrap, and the vetericyn wound n skin care spray. I am about to go change clean and change the bandage. I know to do that 3 x daily. Do I still apply the antibiotic ointment. Plz help asap! I need to do this now.

I've only had them for about 10 days, so I'm sure they need more time to warm up to me. I have two ducks that are super tame, and walk over to be picked up - and 4 ducks that will come up to me and eat out of my hand. If these two want to keep their distance, I am ok with that. I hope they don't think I'm going to murder them on a daily basis. I figure we will start there, and work up to more

The variations in personalities is pretty big with regard to being held. I guess they have their comfort spaces like people have. I hope those buffs do come around. It is hard to be around super adorable birds and not be able to hold them and squeeze.

Poor Lily. I hope someone helps you soon.

I researched.i believe its bumble foot, the one foot is solo bad. If I cut out the black scab like it says, I'll end up cutting off her whole foot. And I think there's a little black scab on the other foot. My poor baby. I could punch her previous owners. I'm gonna go clean both feet. Spray them and wrap them for the night. And hopefully someone will give me answers on what to do by tomorrow bc its so severe. Is there an antibiotic or something I can give her?

So I soaked it in Epsom salt water and its only on one foot. It takes up at least half of her foot. Her pad is so swollen and thheres one dark brown scab right in the middle of the swollen pad and I can see red all around the scab. Infected for sure. The other scab off to the side is different layers and shades of brown like its layering. I just want to be sure its bumble foot before I operate. I don't have the money to pay a vet again. I don't want nothing to happen to her.

Google bumblefoot and compare the pictures then if thats it, look on YouTube. There are good videos on how to do it. Definitely not for the squeamish but it will save her life.
