Pekin Duck Club!

Here they are. That was the box we had them in the first day we got them. I built them a larger box on Monday, and already need to make a new one (they have soaked it, playing in their water). I made a less-splash-prone waterer, using a little tupperware dish with holes in the lid so they can drink but not stand in it, and that is sitting on a plastic tray. They love the water! :)
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

it's a very short tupperware container. I don't think they would fit in there with the lid on.  It's tall enough for their bills to get in, but not enough for their bodies at all  - the holes are not large enough for them to slip inside either. :) I will definitely have to change it as they get bigger. I wanted it to be short enough for them to reach it (It's about an inch tall, and maybe 5x5 wide, it has 8 holes around the edges, and no hole in the middle. I didn't want anyone of them to try to drink from the middle and get stuck.

Oh, dear! I should have acknowledged that there's nothing wrong with what you are doing! I really am sorry I didn't acknowledge that! :hugs
I was giving an alternative if you wanted one. The jugs will work this coming winter, if you don't want them swimming around in their water bowl.

Howdy! Found a bucket of what i believe to be baby pekins. New to the pekin breed. Have had coys, and runners. These guys are sure cute. I am worried though because they were in the rain in the five gallon bucket. Not sure how long they were there.

What's the status report on the little guy?
hi, she is still in t/same position. it looks like t/veins may be drying up a little. i can still see her beak. she opens & yawns & quivers her beak. i just moistened the membrane for t/2nd time today. we r almost at t/end of day 27. is it normal to not hear any sound from her? I do not hear any peeping sound.
Thanks for asking

That sounds like an interesting story. Where was this bucket?
As long as they are active, they should be fine. They look okay.

She's probably so confined right now that she can't talk. If you want to intercede we can. Just let me know and I'll be here to walk you through.

Please help the little one get out of shell. I was trying to help her on top of everything and very excited. If I had the energy I could walk her through it. But I've been up for two days.
