Yes! You'd think someone was killing them when you pick them up, but once you have them they are all cuddles and love! Totally on their terms!!

Thats absolutely it! Their terms. When I take mine out, I get a group hug and some lovin, then they have to run about and check everything out. Then its back to love time, when they decide. Hehe!

Oooo! We have noticed that too! The back is a no go! But neck, chest, belly, even beak/eye rubbies are the best ever! They do that weird shaky neck/ duck purr thing when you touch their face. Like they cant control their happiness so they vibrate. 

Ya, the quivering thing, John's girls do it all the time when they are excited. It's funny. Then when you are down low, they snake their necks over your shoulder. Why?

Ya, the quivering thing, John's girls do it all the time when they are excited. It's funny. Then when you are down low, they snake their necks over your shoulder. Why?

That is a ducky hug. Since they don't have arms they use their necks/heads.

And they do get a bit spassy around 2-3 weeks of age, their teenage years. But after, as long as u hold their footsies in Ur palm or arm when you pick them up they're alright. At least mine don't fuss that much, and we got Pekins, Rouen, Saxony (another heavy breed), Ancona, Golden Cascade, a pair of Khakis and Muscovies.

Now try picking up a goose! Lol. Those wings will give u a nose bleed! But once you have them, they're not really wiggling. Just love mooching with my birds!

Wobbles does this too, we're still not sure if it's out of fear or outright excitement. It usually happens after we stop him attacking an object he's unfamiliar with, so we assumed it was 'cuz he was scared. But we could be wrong!

If you touch our kids from the crop up, they get super shaky. Especially when they are on your lap, getting a sun bath (I just came in from cuddle time. Heehee!).
Do they preen you while they are doing it? The shaking had me worried when they first started it, but they had "happy eyes" and they were super beaky at the same time, so we have narrowed it down to almost like a duck purr.

Supporting the legs does really help. Kublai (hopefully our girl) cries when shes separated from Genghis, but doesnt struggle as much as he does. (I always have to carry one of them to put them back in their tank because wherever one goes, the other follows.)
I cant WAIT to see how pretty their wings are when they are fully grown. They have their sheaths still on their flight feathers. Only three more weeks and we will have adults!
They get so big so fast.. :')

You are hilarious. A diaper on a goose. Could you imagine a Toulouse House Goose and trying to diaper him? It would probably be imminent death for the person administering it. But I think the Toulouses are cute.

So it seems all ducks quiver then. Before I met John's and he told me they did it I thought it was weird since I'd never heard of it happening before. But when I saw it I thought it was cute.
