I had a first time Momma this year and I was a first time Momma observer. It was very interesting watching the whole process. She was the best Mom I could have hoped for. She instinctively knew how to do everything. It was pretty cool.

It’s been bred out of them. I’ve had chickens that surprised me too.
When this one was a baby, she and her brother proved their desire to be parents. I’m still surprised though. But Janice will be great.

Hi i need help!! Just discovered feather lice on my duck he cant of had them long as we have not noticed them till just now, whats the best treatment to get rid asap we have another two ducks so no doubt they will have them too

I would let them swim....for a long time to kill the lice. You always need to give ducks water to swim in so that any bugs that will get on your ducks will drown. That is the only thing I know what to do with lice, mites, and ticks!

Ok thankyou my ducks have pools to swim and they always have access to them, would it be better to put them in the bath tub so i can keep them in the water longer like i say just noticed them tonight but our drake comes in every night and we have never noticed them before so im thinking he has just caught them

There are probably faster ways, but I’d dust their coop/run/nests with DE and add plenty of ACV to their pool. Those environments will be unfriendly to bugs.
