I have a very large jumbo Pekin duck who, about a month ago, started to limp ever so slightly. It got worse and worse for the past few days she is hardly weight bearing at all, and I noticed about 2 weeks ago that it's also swollen and hard. I am wondering if it could be bumblefoot, but it doesn't quite look the same as what I've seen when looking it up. There are no scabs and there was no visible injury. Normally she and her husband get to free range our 13 acre farm during the day, but I've been keeping them up in a large enclosed paddock type thing (very large, 100x12 feet probably) for the last couple of weeks with plenty of food and water. We do have a peacock who harasses her but I've never seen him actually harm her. I would love to hear any advice. I am 15 minutes from the University of Georgia Veterinary teaching hospital, so if I cannot resolve this, I will see if they can come out. She is still very lively and is eating and drinking well. I apologize the the photo is not the best, I was on my own at night. I can get a better picture tomorrow. [IMG]

  2. Could it be possible that she tripped and sprained her foot at the ankle joint?....Sprains take about 4 weeks to heal...Is your Drake breeding her lots?.....

Sorry I was not more help..:)......
