Hi everyone,
Big Mama has been having issues with her feet for a little over a week now. I am between thinking it’s bumblefoot or a callous. She is also limping, only bearing weight on her left foot, which seems odd because that one looks worse. I’ve been giving Epsom salt baths to her feet. Using “green goo natural herbal salve animal first aid” and hen healer multi purpose ointment on them. Below are photos. ANY type of help I’d be gracious for, this is my first time running into this problem with any of birds and I’ve been raising them for years. She is eating and drinking fine. I have her inside my home currently. She is typically a free range duck and coops at night. She’s still laying eggs daily as well. I feed her Purina non medicated pellets mixed with grain scratch.

I'd keep soaking daily. It can take weeks to totally heal. It looks like the right foot is definitely improving. Are you wrapping the feet at all? It might help. I've read that clear iodine also helps. Neosporin might be more beneficial than the green goo. Might also be time for an antibiotic or seeking a vets help with the left foot looking like that.

I was thinking a vet also. I’m going to try to soak them a little more often as well. I didn’t even consider neosporin! Thank you!

Make sure it is Neosporin without pain meds.

I would also recommend ducks booties from crazy k farms. I finally decided to get some for my Pekin, and it has helped a lot. I have actually noticed the healing process going faster. I often deal with reccuring bumblefoot with her.

You will also want to look around your coop and area she roams for things you can change to prevent it. It is usually caused by walking on hard surfaces, or things like dirty conditions. But with Pekins, it is harder to prevent because of all their weight.
