My duckling was injured by his dad on the foot. She has been indoors recuperating. I put her out with the others but she has some difficulty walking and I don't want her using too much. In the small pond, she does seem waterlogged. I figure I will put her with them a few short times a day. Any suggestions? I saw him start to harm the duckling once, but stopped when I yelled at him.

She is about a week old. She was injured at two days

Oh poor baby. I'd try some poultry vitamins and maybe some apple cider vinegar in her water. I'd also separate her into a small enclosure so that she doesn't walk around so much. Maybe put a sibbling in with her and if they could see her that would be good too. She needs some time to heal which will be best by herself or with a sibling. Just make sure the sibling doesn't pick on her. She might have to wait until she's bigger to go back out. It seems maybe daddy doesn't seem she's fit enough being the runt. That's just a thought I could be wrong. Is he picking on anyone else or just the runt?

Oh forgot to add with her being a Pekin some niacin would help her too. Pekins grow extremely fast and its hard on their little legs especially because they get so big and weigh so much. Niacin would help her out with her leg problems. I'd also give it to the other babies as well.

thank you. I think it was a nothing that dad picked on her. I was just worried. I have been watching her. It's not bad if they stay by the pond, but once they start traveling about, it puts a strain on her. I will take her out with a sibling. Thanks for the advice and look for the niacin.
