This is a photo of antibiotics - just not sure if I should keep soaking her in warm bath and epsom salts- I did this 2 times and it did take the belly down a little

Definitely asking here is helpful at times. Although no one here are Vets and the health of your bird is compromised if it's a serious condition. I'd go to a Vet and get an proper diagnosis.

I agree, her poop looks pretty normal except for a tinge of some green. I've had sick ducks and the poop is bright metallic green. How old is she and is she laying? My vet was able to diagnosis heart and lung issues and ovarian cancer in my chicken with a stool sample, and it was under 100.00 dollars. He sent it off to be analyzed.

I found this article which may be helpful. I'm not going to share it all here, but I definitely would search for it and read it as there were some good ideas discussed on how to treat ascites in ducks and why they sometimes develop this problem.

@ronna jozef, of course, a vet would be best, it is almost always is the right choice, but we will support you with whatever you decide.

You should know that ascites can have many causes, and I have personally seen it caused by heart disease, cancer, and reproductive tract infections. Other good people to talk to about ascites are @Eggcessive, @Wyorp Rock, @speckledhen, and @TwoCrows.

When I get one with a belly full of fluid I will drain it if they haven't lost too much weight. If they've lost too much weight, the cause is usually cancer, so those I will euthanize and necropsy. :(

This link that @Momma hen quack referenced is more the exception than the norm I think:
https://commonsensehome.com/ascites-in-ducks/#What_is_Ascites_in_Ducks_Water_BellyThey are saying that their duck was doing well one year after draining, mine usually decline in less than six months.

Anyway, so sorry you're going through this. :hugs

Hi
Her poop may not be showing correct color it is metallic green
I am not sure of her age my flock was abandoned here at my pond. She was always the smallest one and a bit slower than the others

I am so sorry you are dealing with this @ronna jozef :hugs Ive been there a few times. Depending on the cause behind the Ascites, antibiotics can help short term if fluid retention is bacterial driven. But meds won't cure the underlying issue and eventually they die. Draining can extend their lives, but this too only works short term. If this is heart disease, the antibiotics won't have any effect.

Good luck with her, I feel your pain, its heart breaking. :hugs

I have had them 3 years now I had 8 and lost 2 they died of old age my Vet said with multiple health issues

I will have to take her but must watch the cost the 2 others really cost so much /so I learned how to treat common issues like bumble foot
This however is much more
