Penguin looking baby chick.

Update: the 3 chicks are now 7 weeks old.


Still kinda 50/50 if the white chick is pullet or roo. Leaning towards roo from the behaviour. I’m pretty sure my lil penguin chick is a pullet in which case I’m stoked as she’s friendly & will produce blue eggs. my thoughts on the spotty maran looking one haven’t changed it’s a roo.

I’ll attach some photos & let me know

I would say the maran is 100% roo, the penguin is a pullet, and for the easter egger, I'm leaning toward pullet

I agree! Not confident the first is a Marans though Looks like a mixed breed to me!

It is a mix just figured it has maran in the heritage due to the color of egg it came from.

Update:

these chicks are well over 20+ weeks now & I only kept the hens.
The white chick now looks like this:

And the penguin looking chick looks like this:

Neither are laying yet but I do live in Alberta & it’s fall so our daylight is dwindling.
