Aww Thank you!
We got a pip in 1 egg
Glad they are doing good!
Just confirmed tomorrow's chicken processing lesson at the DS's home. DIL wants to learn. She just bought some leghorn roos to practice on ( can there be a more useless bird?) and we will take up our 4 yr old orp spent hens.
Will get DD to practice caponizing on the roos too. Chicken anatomy 101 family time!
Gosh.. hope his shed is heated.
And I WILL get grandma time with the 2 month old GDD
Okay with this batch of chicks. They are over a week old now. They have pasty butt. Really. I have NEVER had chicks that age getting PB. They were fine last night. To top things off one had a nickle sized "ball" of yuck hanging from its navel. There is only 6 chicks left from the original hatch, 21. The 3 Polish went to live with Chad. So that means 12 have died. The ones that have died didn't have the PB. They are mineral oiled. So they have happy shiney hiney, and tomorrow they are going to get some yogurt. Really with this hatch.
Inspiring, AND heart warming. Thank you.
Heather, wow. You really are going through it with these chicks, hope their shiney hineys get well for ya!
I hope so. We moved here from NC a year ago. From our own home in the 'burbs to a rented home in the country. We love it here and love the schools. The thought of moving makes me physically ill. He just extended our lease, so we are good for another year. After that, who knows?
