Anyways, I was creepin around ebay/for-sale listings/craigslist like I usually do when I came across a breeder who is raising pure-blooded Ko Shamo. I used to have an interest in these birds but seeing his stock has rekindled my love for those adorable, punky, "I'm a tiny tough guy" faces! The only problem is he's charging a small fortune for them. My wallet is crying out in pain just thinking about purchasing hatching eggs. I would LOVE to get some, but is it really worth it? My only interest in them would be exhibition, I don't really intend on breeding them. I wonder if they're even an accepted breed and judges would actually take them seriously? Is it even worth entering them? That, and there's always the creeping doubt that the seller/breeder isn't legitimate and I'm giving an arm and a leg for crap. The birds look amazing though!!

There's one that's updated and breeds them. Maybe contact them and see pics and prices? Maybe they'll be cheaper, or more expensive and justify the cost of who you are currently looking at? Lol.

I made a mistake. Last night I decided to wash all the eggs not going to the woman wanting to hatch. I knew I should wait, but I was anxious. DH comes home on Mondays, and I always want him to see a clean house. That includes all eggs washed, and in a carton.
Thismorning I saw the neighbor, and asked about the incubator. After lecturing me on not being able to hatch chicks in the winter, she asked her mother (they are all mentally slow) who actually said no! So she said she would hatch for me. As much as I don't like the idea, I am willing to do it. She swears that she knows what she is doing, and is capable of helping chicks out. Listening to her, I see that she knows a good deal, but not as much as I have learned. In the end, I won't ask, and hope she doesn't tell. I also hope that I get to see them hatching, or soon after. No one is allowed in their house (they are hoarders) so I doubt I will get to. My hope is that I have gained her mother's trust over the past year.
Anyway, here is to a good hatch!!

Off to my favorite place in the world....the dentist.....and due to Fiancee's work mess...he can't take off to go with me....so I'm going to a strange dentist all by myself....why do I feel like a 4 year old on the first day of kindergarten??? Actually...they kinda want to go there...I want nothing to do with this...but Fiancee won't let me put it off till after we get married.

I have a royal palm (carries blue), a royal palm/bbb mix (but he doesn't have the massive breast), and the BBW hennies. I'm hoping to get something smaller than a BBW, without the issues, but still something that'll produce good meat within a few months, instead of waiting two years or spending $40 on a couple eggs to get heritage breed. The Narri's are GORGEOUS. I was thinking about them, but heard that they have a tendency to be more aggressive. I love the BBB too, the pattern/coloring on them (with the white tips) is simply gorgeous.

She probably just has a crop full of water and when you pick her up, it oozes out. Happens a lot with ducks for me. Make sure she's eating enough food to help absorb the water and keep it in the crop.

I got my electronic thermostat in today! For $14, it has me wanting to find a good store fridge (like they sell soda and junk in) that doesn't work anymore and make my own. I have wanted to do that for forever, but never did because of the cost of thermostats, lol. But, if I did that, I'd probably end up buying turners for the tabletop models and that would jack costs up as well. Still, at least the thermostat would be cheap, lol.
