I might be ready to buy pullets this weekend................I have two possible sellers.............anyone else know where I can get 3-5 pullets of these varieties

Easter Eggers
Marans
Gold Laced Wyandotte
New Hampshire Red
Barred Rock
Partridge Rock
Welsummers

I am getting excited and nervous and

still need to construct the run and put on the roof!

Darn this hot weather....................cool off already!

I am willing to drive a bit if its for a good cause!

The other day, Heatherscooby77 posted that she has some easter eggers. I've got a couple BC marans pullets. Mine are a few months old and already outdoors. I think Heather mentioned that hers are too.

You can probably find most of what you want from the members here.

My patient is eating some food this morning! YAY!!!! I am hoping this is a good sign..... Vet said to only give her canned food so that is what she has. Still looking for name options for the kitty....

I thought about that but then my husband isn't here, he has the ladder on his work van, this I can just attach to the wood and then hoist the wood up and screw it to existing wood on the back of the garage, then attach it to the trees.  I'd rather know they were safe for sure instead of waiting till sunday, poss mon/tues when hubby gets home.

On a good note, just got a call about our runaway dog, waiting on her to be returned right now ....

I have been told and am using fishing line on my pen...its probably the cheapest alternative and easy to cut and replace if necessary....

Lisa:

If nobody mentioned it, you should be buying chicks/pullets around the same age/size.....if not you will need to be able to segregate them....,day olds and month olds cannot hang together....and in a perfect world, you should be aware of quarantine practices, though I am not sure that counts for day olds that are incubated.....my two cents...

Thanks for the silkie info--I contacted her yesterday and will be getting some eggs.

Hope the kitten is doing better. I am a vet tech, so feel free to message me if you have any questions/concerns.

Biologrady- how much would those go for/ what kind are they/ where in PA are you?

chixranch- that is such an amazing brooder!!!

Hi,

Anyway, no hazmat suits. They did come and remove all my chickens (per my request since I was going to get rid of them anyway to start fresh) but it was just one guy in his little Camry haha. The backyard is pretty lifeless now as I disinfect everything and throw everything away in preparation for the chicks that are coming in a week to move in there in a month.
Anyone have experience with Murray Mcmurray? I got 15 little babies from them and I am hoping more then 4 live with proper care.

Regarding the microscopes, I don't know what brands they all are, there's an assortment, but if I remember right many of them were old Bausch and Lombs, typical high school kind with 4x, 10x and 40x lenses, mirror lit, and really heavy. I really like them for the quality of the optics, and scavenged some of these type lenses to put on our newer electric scopes.
eBay has a few similar ones from 25 to 80$ plus 15 to 20 shipping. I'm definitely not selling them (they're not mine to give, the school district has declared them obsolete and to be disposed of), luckily our director and lab tech have the same opinion as me, what a waste if they go to the landfill or for scrap metal.
Our PA place, where my parents live, is outside Moscow, near Gouldsboro.

I've heard from about 10 people now, so I really need to go into school and be sure there are that many in decent shape... Will probably go next Tuesday, and after that I'll just take them to the UPS store as people give me shipping info.

Oh thank you :) So far so good. She is resting alot, which is to be expected. She is a fighter though, she hobbled out on to my bed this morning so she could cuddle with me for a little, laid next to me purring away. I am going to give her some pain meds here in a minute although she has yet to show me much as far as being in pain so i am going on how i would feel and treating accordingly. I hope that is the right thing to do? She ate a little food this morning, i have not seen her drink since last night but i have not been watching her all the time. Should i be watching her more and noting when she eats/drinks?

Finally got started on the long overdue new Coop. 7x11.5 is three plan. Just got the base together.
Tried adding a pic , but mobile is not cooperating.

Also got two eggs from my Swedish flowers today! Guess the next batch is coming of age! Time to fire up the incubator!

I need to check with my township, my neighbor has a shed that they don't want. I was hoping to get it and convert it into a new coop. But i need to find out if our other buildings that are on the property are grandfathered in, MIL never got permits to put them on the property.
If i am able to get this shed it is going to take some work to turn it in to a coop. The roof is coming apart but they had replacement shingles for the roof and they will give them to me with the shed. Right now my birds are using an oversized dog house that i made that is an A frame. It works but they don't have any actual nest boxes in there due to the shape of the building. Really need to get my but in gear and find out about the other buildings....
