No problem, I will try to get them this weekend. The one is a lot nicer then the other, but the other one could catch up. I don't have the other cockerel, he is my cousin's bird. He came from April, she hatched him, but the eggs were from LarkRise. I can try to get a pic of him too.

That would be great! The boy I kept isn't all that. He's out of the Wayne Meredith wheaten cockerel you bought from me. Like his dad, he has a to upright tail and white fluff at the base of it. His beard is still white, too. He has no ticking and his colors are gorgeous, but that tail! I really miss Dorian. He may have had a single beard gene, but his tail angle and color was fantastic.

That's what I been using as waterfowl nests for over a year. Works great & they love it.

Are you looking to hatch them? I have been looking at ducks for some time and I like Muscovy ducks the most so far. What are your thoughts on them after owning them?

Spring spring spring................dreaming of spring!

So I have ordered chicks for mid March! and just today

I ordered a whole bunch of non GMO seeds too!

I am so ready for spring and its only Mid January!

At least some seeds can be started indoors in maybe a months time.............

and it is easy to order stuff........but then comes the hard work of building the new coop and the new square foot gardening raised beds!

I am however mentally quite looking forward to all this..........

We will see what my body and mind will feel like when I trying to do the carpentry and digging work on the weekends!

For now-----at least there is stuff to look forward too!

just thought I would share my looking forward to SPRING!

How early do you all start your seeds?????

For my spring garden, I start with a seed inventory...then decide what I veggies I want to grow....I always plant peas on St Patrick's day and try to get seedling in in the first week in April. I do plan for subsequent frost and have lost some in the process..but, the early start helps...I don't have them but warming pads for germination help..........
