Is it legal to take trash that has been put curbside, what about in a dumpster....

I have been going every Sunday night to check on my mother and it seems that her neighborhood is very wasteful and trashy very good stuff...I do not want to end up with a ticket over a trash pile.

Tried looking it up and all I found was about private property, where does the private line stop and start.

Think of the things we could build out of someone's trash....I am not above climbing in the dumpster for an item that looks good.

Wing:

Unless the property is posted 'no tresspassing' or the owner asks you to leave, you are not breaking the law....I know you are just itching to go dumpster diving ....lol.....

No need to be hitting my head on the dumpster, these people throw away perfectly good things, just sitting there at the end of the driveway for people like me who have no shame in picking up others trash......
I am tempted to keep a notebook in the car and keep track of the good area's to trash shop.

you can always spread some flour or talcum powder......its only a short term alternative to try and get a print....(maybe save some unused chicken parts from a cull and bait with your cam....

I like this idea!  Never thought of the powder to get a print... it would at least give a clue to what you are dealing with and allow you to plan better on trapping and/or dispatching it.

Wouldn't a wild animal smell a talc powder and be very cautious...not sure about flour..

I need more camera's, I only have the one and it is a pain to move around

When giving the coop a quick clean out this morning, I noticed one of my chickens had some very strange poo. And look how shiny and clear it is! It must be fresh. Looking around for any other weird poops I found a weird soft orb. Duh! It was someone's first egg attempt! I switched to sand so it looks kind of dirty, but still neat to see. I has heard about how sometimes the first egg can be "rouge" and have a soft shell, or no shell. Here's my proof!

that's awesome! Hopefully it doesn't take long for her to get her plumbing running right lol.

I was looking forward this morning to going out and feeding the chickens and doing my early morning chores so I could get to be the one to check the nest boxes myself (in competition with the kids here lol). But as I was filling their food, my dauber came flying out the door, wide awake and wanting to check :/. I guess maybe next time lol. There want anything there yet, it's was pretty early, but still.

We got our third egg today Yay! It's almost identical to the one from yesterday but this is the first one that was in a different nest box. I'm wondering if it's from a different girl or if she decided to use a different box today?

The first trash day after Christmas is a good time to look for TVs....lol...(I'm told the trash guys fight for the 'good' routes)

IDK what causes meat spots or how to prevent it. I suspect it's hereditary, at least to some extent, and has been largely bred out of prod layers.

What do you want to know about fruit trees? I don't have any at the moment, but I have a BS in horticulture, so I might be of some help.

Hey, sorry for the late response- i'm not on as often as i'd like to be. I wish that i could narrow it down to one bird that's laying the "meatier" eggs, but i can't. I'm thinking that it's one of the New Hampshire Reds since i've never noticed any with the Dominiques. I've gotten used to it, but i'm afraid that if i give the eggs to a friend that they will think it's a semi-developed embryo. Which isn't the case as i've read. Anyways, about the fruit trees- i think I've got it figured out now for the most part. We were really getting hit hard by Japanese Beatles (now lesser since we set traps) but we also noticed these worms/caterpillars on our apple trees that literally ate every leaf off of one branch within a day. They stayed together and were brown with black heads. I don't think they are bag worms by the pictures that i looked up, but i can't find much information about these worms. I also head that i can't spray them with anything because they are still so small (they are only 2 years old), i don't want to spray them with anything too harsh anyways. So for now, i'm using insecticidal soap and picking off with tweezers....

...anyway, been canning and blanching things from the garden already..that in it'self is an all day adventure..then we have the granddaughter quite a bit cause mom & day work so much...but..we do get to have some very awesome moments with her and the animals here....
Gotta love this!!

'*Motorcycle chick' -had given us some fertile Marans eggs to help with the "broody" situation..so, we had 3 out of 4 eggs hatch, unfortunately one of the chicks was trapped under the feeder and I didn't notice till morning..so sad..but we do have two very healthy-cute chicks to hover over now...It was Cordons first hatch and she is a wonderful-calm mother..she allows me to handle her and the chicks without incident.

Hoping these two are pullets...Babs is till not laying, so we are looking at 'replacing' her...has to be some issues that just is not normal...I have not been able to get an idea of what it could be, i have tried everything..and i do mean everything, cause i really like that bird(partridge).

This is the first year i have planted sunflowers(*autumn-harvest). We sure are enjoying the flowers, and are looking forward to the seeds!!
Question for anyone here...cause I know we have some of the smartest peeps!!!
