Do hawks fly at night ?
I just had something really huge fly over my head, to large to be our regular cooper hawk that visits.
Whatever it was took off from on top the barn and over the house out towards the open field..
Huge, impressive wing span.
Silent, no wing flapping just a glide..
Probably should have scared the crap out of me but I was in awe of the size of whatever it was.

Free roosters. 4 white Silkie roos. 7 Easter Egger roos. 2 lavender orpington roos. 1 buff orpington roo. All of the roosters are 2 months to 1 year old. Please pm me if interested or for pictures. They are all healthy, we just hatched out too many boys.
Thanks,
Michele

My guess is owl. Large, night, silent wings...yup. Owl. final Answer.

There are a bunch of great horned owls around. There is a nest in the old Sico park. Yeah, right behind your house.

Really,
Well then I guess the farm was right in the hunting path for it...
I need to stay up and watch more often. Here lately I am snoring by 10 but then I get up before the sun does.

My advice to anyone putting rabbits outside - keep them in a cage of some sort. They dig!

I saw a video on YouTube for a natural outdoor space for rabbits that actually keeps them contained. Cam t get the link on my phone but I can post later if interested. Basically, they took an old truck cap (the cap that you can get for the bed of a truck), turned it upside down so it was like a bowl. Filled it with dirt and planted grass/clover/etc on it. Fencing could be buried so the can't squeeze under and they have dome depth to dig and burrow but can't get through the fiberglass cap. I thought it was pretty brilliant.
