Problem::
One of my hens is just standing in one spot with eyes closed. She is responsive but not herself. Why is she doing this? Other birds are molting not her though that I know of. What could be wrong?

I don't know what causes it, but I have some hens that are like that. I was sure they would not survive, but they are still alive months later, and still acting sleepy all the time.

no way that's crazy. ..I hope she's not like that. I have her in the garage with a light on her gave her some olive oil in case she's egg bound and scrambled eggs to eat something

Hope the surgery went well, I feel for you. .

Thanks, surgery was tough, and we thought we might lose her, but she stabilized. They are waiting for swelling to go down over a few days before they close her chest. I didn't even know they could do that!

My neighbor says he saw some feathers in hard but all my girls are accounted for. I have to check for an hawk injuries when I get home....

im so excited! My broody managed to hatch out a chick! Yay!! These eggs were supposed to hatch on Wednesday and nothing was happening, even checked last night and was on the search for chicks for her. But low and behold...

Congrats!!! So happy for her and you! It is always a special thing to see, no matter how many times it happens.

I'm so mad at myself! Working on my sister's coop today, I had notes on my plan to run the peak of the roof the short way instead of the long way so that the overhang would protect the screened windows from weather. I put the ting on the long way anyway! So now there is no overhang over the windows. And I didn't realize why things weren't working out they way they should until we were done for the night and was just too late to do anything about it.
