Wow, so much has happened! I'm so sorry that you lost Kendra šŸ˜” Jenibelle is a beautiful girl! She looks like she had a sweet and kind face. I'm sure Mindy will teach her well!

I how everyone is ok and things return to normal for you and your family, whatever may be going on.

We've also had some struggles ourselves. DH officially lost his unemployment last fall. We were able to skate by for a little while but he finally had to get a job. It was hard for him to actually find one but he managed to get an IT position at the courthouse. It doesn't pay great but it's a foot in the door. He likes it so far but this is still his first week. He's in his last semester for his associates degree now. We've all been sick a lot since before Christmas with flu, pneumonia, and strep cycling through the house. The kids are busy nonstop. Both are doing stage crew for the school musical, DS made it to district swim, regional band, regional chorus and is auditioning for states. Of course this is the time where the cars are all acting up. I'm ready for things to start slowing down and getting back to some sort of normal around here.
Thank you for the kind words, it has been a challenging time but it could be so much worse.

Jenibelle is doing good, and yes, Mindy also thinks she has a lot to teach her, lol. It does seem that Jeni is showing real potential for taking care of the little chicks like Mindy has done.
I'm glad your husband is happy with his new job. It's a rough time right now for everyone's finances with the inflation mess so I made sure it's a relief for him to be drawing a check again. It may not be his dream job yet but county positions are usually a pretty good deal. Hopefully his college work goes well, he'll be proud of that for sure!
So exactly what is "normal" when you have teenagers?:gig

I have accepted that EMS isn't possible much in the near future at least so I have been in process of setting up a small animal transport service. Getting pretty close to being on the road with it.

I think that catches everything up now.. once I start doing road trips I will post up destinations on here if anyone needs some eggs moved.

I believe a song said it well.... Times they are a-changin'....
I have been talking off and on to a show breeder near Raleigh, NC about a pair of geese. Too far to go pick them up, but if you are making lists of possible clients, let me know if you ever setup something in that direction, I will see if he has anything available then.

As far as my personal life, I started a new job back in October and kind of hate it, so I am starting a new job on the 28th. Almost all remote working from home, which works well for me. It is really nice that the demand for technology workers is so high now.

I am building large flocks of the Ayam ketawas and Ayam cemanis by hatching lots of chicks. They are not very domesticated breeds and it's more like raising pheasants at times. I sure hope some of the ketawa cockerals have a decent laugh when they start crowing, otherwise there will be a lot of feral ketawas at the farm this summer.

Got my first pair of geese back in December (Pilgrims). Hope they do well laying this year. Geese are tricky to hatch in incubators, but I did ok with some borrowed eggs last year. Maybe the goose eggs will go under some muscovy hens if they prove to be good broodies as advertised.

Will certainly keep you in mind. Transportation would normally be cost prohibitive for poultry unless someone was moving large quantities or if it were like my situation where it would be added as an extra on a trip with other animals to defray costs.

Good point lol. I guess normal would be nobody sick and everything functioning without an issue lol. When the cars are fixed and none of us are sick anymore, THAT will be considered normal again lol. I don't want to rush summer since then I'll be back to work again but that's when kids won't be doing 10,000 things lol

Exactly! It is not worth it to me to take a day or 2 to drive there for a single pair of (expensive) geese. AFAIK, this breeder is the only one in the US that has brown china geese with the gene for blue/lavender. I have a weakness for rare breeds/colors, but not enough to make that trip.

There are some happy chickens today! Even still ice and snow on the ground, everyone cannot wait to go out of their run. Took hubby to his doctor today and everything looks much better now. I was very busy at work recently. We weren’t busy for a long time, so I was excited to see things starting back to normal.

Glad everyone is doing good. I have a feeling that the past bad two years period is over. I’m so tired of this Covid thing.

I may be driving to/from FL in March or April. I could pick them up on the way back if they are not too far off 95.
Thank you for the offer. If it all works out, that would be great. You would be helping to establish a new color of high quality geese to our area (and maybe beyond). I know a lot of pieces would have to fall into place, and for now it is just wishing.
