Wait… what? He's out there in his team jacket…. DANG!

FISHERLADY, 20 mule team borax… Got it! or…I'll go get it…not sure what to do with it. U tube, show me the way….
We have used the borax to aid in drying the meat/fat that sticks to the underside of the skin. It basically just pulls moisture out and allows for easier scraping. It may dry the skin some, but isn't the true 'tanning'. I have never done a full tanning process, just skinning, short term preserving thing. They do sell kits though for tanning at many outdoor stores and possibly your local feed mill or hunting supplier.

I have propane heat. 3 years ago we spent $6000 to heat our house for the winter. Hubby went and got us a wood stove. Now I just have to feed the stove and make sure the fire doesn't go out. Keeping warm is so expensive

Yikes! We have a coal stove, and only spend about $300 per heating season.
