Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

patrickchick, we have the same problem with marans no matter if we hatch by incubator or broodie. Dry incubation works better than regular. The broodies are crazy mental cases too. Never try to co-hatch with them- they fight over the eggs from day 1.
Still, we persist!

Hey, motorcyclechick...
Remember the Red Roo that fisherlady and I came over to get from you...
Not only did he make some delicious soup and chicken chowder, he is serving another purpose...

I tied up a few flies tonight from the saddle and hackles that we preserved.

All of the flies that I tie in my "spare" time end up getting donated to a program called "Project Healing Waters", it's a program where volunteer fisherpeople take psychologically and physically wounded veterans out for some therapy time on the lakes and streams to fish and enjoy the outdoors.

Just wanted to let you know that your roo is contributing to the rehabilitation of our wounded soldiers!

Poor Red!!!
Seriously, he was an evil thing. I will go to the chicken swap in Clearfield this May, but I will not get anything from those people again! I can only imagine that all their roos have that "mean" gene. I don't want to take a chance. Besides, who wants to pay for roosters and Cross beak chicks?

FOUND THEM AGAIN!!! will send DH and Mine out tomorrow!! PROMISE!! Who else is going??
Sally I'm going to the one at Penn State on March 13. The flyer for the Penn State course in State College says you must complete and email/fax application for pre-approval by Friday , March 1, 2013 to Dr. Elizabeth Santini ([email protected], 814-946-7354-fax, 717 -443-1185- phone). This course at Penn State will also be doing lab work.
