glad you found out and they're on the road to good healthMaybe I can finally help!!! Not sure where you guys are located, But I went to the Quakertown Vet when my Oriencia was sick, I HIGHLY Recommmend them! The woman I met with was awesome she is an avairan specialist! And she had pictures of chickens(past Patients) http://www.quakertownvetclinic.com/
But, I tried the Tetracycline, and such. What I learned from was.. That is good but you need to make sure they are getting the correct Dosage, for the Breed/weight, Or it's not going to be as effective ( Like putting it in their water and hoping they are getting enough, and that crap stinks, i doubt it tastes any better) She ended up prescribing a pill antibiotic.. She did tell me what was wrong, but she was talking pretty quick, chest infections of some sort.. I felt so much better after talking to her and I ended up treating 2 birds, and everyone has been great since! (Knock on wood)
