Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I did think of bamboo but it can then sprout up over into their property line ensuring that all hell would break loose. I think i'll go with the Maiden grass, the bottom half of it is sharp but the top half has long whispy feather like pink blooms I guess you'd call them

Then maybe do like a zebra type grass in the front

I think we will eventually build some long planting boxes with fairly solid bases and then put some maiden grass in them and place them on top of the sand mound, seeing as we can't plant ON the stupid thing!
Wow that is nice! And the reason I recommended it is because I have it in my yard and have never seen or heard the neighbors on the other side of the bamboo line LOL

I've wanted to plant bamboo for a long time, I just wasn't positive where my line is so I can be sure I wasn't planting it on the wrong side. Not that the guy would've said anything, it's a Christmas tree field that borders us. I just can't stand the workers he hires being able to look into my house if the curtains aren't drawn, and I hate doing that because the sunlight cuts the electric bill. I don't like that they can see nearly my whole yard either...
I guess I'll just deal with it, we should have the new house built and be off this property in the next two years. I'm not gonna put more money than I need to into property I won't own, it'll be hard enough for Gavin to clear it if he ever wants it without adding more plants. That's a whole other rant/issue though...lol.

On one hand, it's a nice break from the summer heat. On the other hand, I hate getting my shoes soaking wet in the grass walking to the coop first thing in the morning. What's with the low temps overnight?

I don't know but my chickens that refuse to go in the coop had cold feet this morning. They'll be going in tonight, even if I have to carry every one of their butts in. The ones that were in the coop had nice toasty feet.

yep, I will behave myself....
What are you looking for, we have all sorts of critters here..

Just my 2 cents on the neighbor issue.....You say you like the neighbor and have no real issues with them except for the walking thru...have you discussed this with them (remember people nowadays have no common sense )...they may not realize it bothers you if you are sitting outside and not saying anythin they may think you are fine with it.....I really would try to work with them before putting up fences....when in a town or city, yes fences make good neighbors, but for country life fences make people wonder what you are hiding...

not sure what your set up is but we consider neighbors to be everyone within a 5 mile radius, and we all look out for each other, and always check up on things that are out of place.

The other year i was out bow hunting on our property and two of our neighbor kids came out on to our property carrying some kind of gun. Said they were squirrel hunting. No orange on, no licenses, no adult with them. I yelled at them. A week or two later my hubby caught these same kids on our property again. Not pretty, we followed them to their house and told their dad that we had asked them to stay off our property before and they didn't listen. He said that he had told the boys that not all the neighbors would like them on their land. We said it probably would have been different if they had asked us for permission, but they didn't.
Last year i saw them walking up the road with a gun looking at the trees, obviously looking for squirrels again. No orange on, no license, and oh, no adult with them again. That was the last straw. I called the PGC and told them what was going on. Haven't seen the kids since. Lol
We have 4 kids. Each one of them know not to go on other peoples property unless they have permission. They also know they are not allowed to have a gun in their hands unless we are with them. Besides, our gun are locked in a huge gun safe that requires a key and the combination, which none of them know.
