Afternoon all, hope most of you didn't get too much rain. Whatever storm we had I must have slept through it lol when I got up it looked like it hardly rained at all here ... odd.

Well my day has been AWESOME, dropped the kiddo at preschool, went to the local mennonite discount grocery store and what do I hear next to me ...... another AUSTRALIAN voice!!!!!!

I haven't heard another aussie voice up close and personal since I bumped into another aussie in Oklahoma lol I must have looked like a kid on christmas eve while I was talking to the lady! hahahahaha

My 6 girls are doing well, growing like weeds and come running to me everytime I go anywhere near their run outside - they constantly stalk me for treats lol

The 2 new RSL's I got are fairly quiet, very reserved and ever so slightly skittish still

I am hoping they start to get a bit more welcoming when I finally get to put them outside with the rest of the girls. They are SOOO messy though, constantly knocking over their food, upturning their nesting box I put in for them - I think it is their way of saying they aren't happy to be in the garage

They look fine, no lice, very clean, normal poop, no breathing issues that I have seen over the last week. Part of me wants to go put them in with the girls sooner but then my brain kicks in and says "nooooooooooo be patient" lol

Ugh! My iPad wont let me multi quote.

I've never had a fart egg or shell less one. They look so weird! I'm sure I will get I one at some point. They freak me out a little.

I love all the pictures of the baby chicks. We should have 3 hatching tomorrow or the next day and then 2 weeks left on the ones under our silkies. She kicked out 2 eggs so far. 10 left and I'm praying some hatch. I need to sneak in at night and candle.

I moved our 2 Easter Eggers and 1 serama in the grow out area with our cochin mix and d'uccle. We did it late last night. Today they seem to be getting along. Those of you who have seramas, do you let them free range? I've been letting the Cochin and d'uccle out and soon the Easter Eggers will be big enough. Pee Wee is still so tiny I'm afraid something will get her. Advice needed!

Howdy from Chester Co....!!!

BTW, I had a one pint mason jar that was full this morning....I think that means about 41/2" of rain.....

So around 7AM I started hearing it really coming down. Rolled over to go back to sleep, when the wife nudged me and said "We gotta put the tarp back on the coop!"

We had just started painting it this weekend, and had taken off the tarp covering the (as yet unshingled!) roof in anticipation of putting down the tar paper. I had cut a pair of skylights into the roof, but hadn't finished installing the plastic for the second one. The girls seem to like to roosting under the openings, and so when the rain came down...

...they got a little wet and spooked. Oh boy did I get an ear-full this morning while covering the roof again! The girls were NOT happy.
