Oh poo. The amount I have is not much, and is fairly high. Do you think that if they are well fed they might leave it alone?

. If not, what do I do?

I would scrape off any on the inside. Also you don't want an air tight coop. Chickens need ventilation and some air flow ~ they can deal with the cold, moisture buildup and stale air is not good for them.

Agreed! Going back to bed right now. Haha!

That was awesome!
Keep updated Stake! Hope all goes well!

Update on the coop: got my shingles up and the vinyl sheeting up on the inside of the walls. It's coming along! Now. Have to creat my nest box and attach it. Does anybody have their nest box separately? I'm sure it's best to keep it in the coop. But does anyone have one in their run also/instead?

Also, went to the Chicken Seminar today at Primex Garden Center in Glenside today. It was very informative, although a lot of these things I already knew from reading. But I got to hold a little chick! It was only $10, and then you were given a $5 store credit to use also. Well worth it to have a small group setting with question and answer time. And to make some chicken friends!

Hope everyone's weekend is going well!
Ann- it is looking very good!!

....little reminders/suggestions....ventilation at the top of your coop..looks like you have plenty of room for a couple vents at your roof area...the girls are gonna need fresh air- not drafts, but air circulation so moisture doesn't build up

...also, chickens will eat anything...really, it can get gross sometimes

..anyway, that is another thread...hahaha, maybe file some of that extra foam insulation off & out of there. I see some of that blue stuff too...sometimes just a steak knife or even a box cutter will do the trick! I have read were they picked an entire foam cooler apart!!! I didn't finish reading to see how THAT worked out
roll.png
...not good I am sure....your doing a great job!! just little things to help them and you out! What are you going to be using for bedding? What method I guess I should ask?... Glad to hear your getting to talk 'chicken shop" out of the house
wink.png
..hahahaha..it really is an adventure..SO much to learn!!!! Just wait till you finally get your girls!!!
celebrate.gif
...hahahha....also to throw a little more thinking your way..What type of feeder and water system will you be going with? Will you be supplying electricity to the coop? Thinking of these things now...( there is more

).. can help alot down the road...if you are thinking of having any of that in the coop, now would be a good time to address it...so you don't have to go back and re-work/modify the whole outfit later....checking out the coop threads might give you more ideas to work into your plans....Have fun!!!
We are going home tomorrow, can't wait to get back and play with the girls..hahaha

**Stake- Hoping your day is getting better
