Shoot... must have been upset about moving... it happens sometimes. Well, either you can be relieved she will go back to laying or if she continues to act broody just give her a couple of days on the new nest area and give her back the eggs. You should be able to store the ones you gave her for a week or so, since she was only on them part of a day.

Hi!! Long time no see! Hope your bird activities have been going well....Gracie as raised 3 more clutches since the one from the January hatch along last year and she is now setting again waiting for more eggs... so things not much different here! LOL
Good luck on the fishing this summer! Drop me a PM if you are going to be in Erie over the summer.

Hi fisherlady,

It's been awhile, we've been lurking on the BYC facebook page recently! Birds are going good we are up to 9 and wanting more!!! We added 2 golden lakenvalders, 1 blue laced wyandotte, 1 golden laced wyandotte, and 1 partridge chantecler! Gracie is amazing with her clutches! I kinda wish we had a hen go broody! We are hopefully going to try steelhead fishing sometime in march, we'll drop you a pm!

I finally got one of the brooder pens up and functioning to put my broody on eggs...while I was grumbling making my way through the dark trying not to drop eggs and holding down a not so happy broody, I thought to myself....'hey, how did Sally Sunshine manage to do this in the day?. My advice at this time, either try again in the dark of night, or break her brood by dropping her temperature.

I have perennials that I would like to trade for hatching eggs. I am in SE Lanc. Ct. I would like to set the eggs on 3/18 to hatch a day before our daughter receives her day-old chicks. I would prefer local to shipping.

I like this trade! What kind of perennials do you have and...what are you looking to get? I'm in Chester County and could meet at Shady Maple?
