Too far for me, but hopefully you get someone to clean it up for you soon. I here you about the larger logs...we have gotten a lot of wood given to us for that reason, we are willing to cut it up, but a lot of folks don't have the chain saw to handle anything over about a 12 or 14 inch tree, or aren't physically able to pick up the larger rounds.
needed to share, just visited Hershey Gardens and saw that our very own Eweaber has metal sculptures featured there!! Soooo happy for him, and very impressed. (I sculpted the ornament in the last picture myself -well...I had a little help).
Just cut it off and put flour on it or the quick stop bleeding stuff for dogs nails is a powder as well. Then keep her in the hospital containment as you mention for 24hrs she will be fine after and the others won't pick on her wound you can add more powder the next day or so.This is a picture from google images.............of a wyandotte chickens single comb. My golden lace wyandotte has a nasty injury on her comb. I am not sure how it got injured........did she get caught up on some wire or netting? or did one of the other gals peck it bottom line is you see how the comb goes back toward a point...........well her comb now stands nearly straight up in the air since it has a cut on it its hardly attached. It had been bleeding but the bleeding has stopped . I just tried to wash it by dabbing with clean soap and water, dried it by dabbing then put on antibiotic ointment without the pain killer and dabbed some blue kote on it still sticks up alot so i tried to tape it down a bit but i doubt the paper thin first aide tape will stay on from the comb to feathers.........it does not have much to adhere to. my question is.........should I try to wrap it with gauze or something tomorrow I have her in a rabbit hutch for the night so that she can heal .......and that none of the gals peck at her in the morning any advice on this has anyone ever had to amputate a section of the comb? I am hoping by lining it up it might heal or in the worst case scenario.......as in frost bite the part would fall off if it does not heal. again.........please help with advice. other than the comb injury she seems fine. thanks so much from one mother hen to the rest of you all!
when he did finally make the trip top freezer camp, I checked his crop and there was no sign of the injury though there was a small scar on his skin where it had closed up. Good luck with your girl!
I would try super glue. I used it once to help a little guy who ended up with a hole in his crop. It was extremely intimidating. I had to keep applying it every couple days but that's because everytime he would eat, his food would push on it. He healed up well
). The chemical for the glue is cyanoacrylate, which is also the same as the 3M liquid stitches they use in hospitals.
