Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

When I put the KY jelly in her, I didn't feel the egg close to the vent opening. I am afraid of breaking it and she gets cut. I can feel the egg when I massage her. I can't get her to eat or drink anything right now. I keep giving her soaks in the epsom salt. I hope she can pass it soon. She looks miserable.

How's it going?

Of course! Mentioning the lube would make it totally normal!! :lau

Lol! Absolutely!

Am I alone in saying....

IT'S WAY TOO COLD!!!

I'm not ready for this cold stuff AT ALL! I've been freezing all day. Doesn't help that I've been laying around all day and not up and moving around. I think I pulled an adhesion and I've been confined to the couch most of the day. Thank God for hubby who's been taking care of me all day. He just started the first fire of the season in the fireplace. As pretty as it looks, I'm still not ready for summer to leave :(

I agree! Definitely a taste of fall. So glad my little chicks have their broody Mamas still to keep them warm. We built a fire pit this year with form free bricks (thank you Craigslist!), and I'm excited to use it. I'm scouring the yard for branches now!

You should have seen my Walmart stop. Turkey baster, KY jelly, and Preparation H

My son told me that normal people do NOT have chickens in their bathroom/bath tubs.

Hope she passes it...

:D I will be 1/2 century old later this month. I'm looking forward to it.

Awesome! Happy early birthday!

GM all:

Yes its chilly out there this morning....didn't have three of the chooks make it back into the coop last night spent and hour combing the backyard with no signs....well they turned up this am in the veggie garden....Rooster was crowing on que at 5:40a....whew.....

A Twist on a 5 Gallon Spring Water Jug Gravity Fed Poultry Waterer

I needed a big waterer for our 26 meat birds desperately, then I saw the idea of this system on a google image search but after some thought, I realized that I needed to make a few changes, because when your a woman carrying a 5 gallon jug of water and flip it over you don't want to mess around trying to align anything, and I didn't want to mess up my water jugs either by drilling holes and adding any bolts, etc. The coffee container can move wherever it wants in that bucket and you can just flip the 5 gal jug into the bucket quick without having to fuss with all that weight in one hand! And its gravity fed of course. We have two water jugs, so I can carry one along to the meat birds to replace the other, then rinse and sun dry until the next day, repeat. Here is a link to a water jug if you dont use them from walmart or someplace already. I had asked for mine on CL in a general sales post, got three replies and ended up with freebies! Thats always a plus!
The site has several sizes and buy two get a discount, but again local CL works best, just type and ask!

Excellent, I'll definitely be using something like this in the near future.

Penelope still hasn't passed the egg

She is still alert. I soaked her and massaged her again today and lubed her a few times today but still nothing. She has pooped a few times. That gives me hope. I didn't realize how stressful this would be.

Thank you!!!

OK fisher:

I am green with envy...What'd you catch??? I've been on the fishing sidelines and its killing me after having to pump the main tank dry and getting the injectors cleaned....

Mother nature kept us on the sidelines this weekend...Lake was 6-10 ft waves the last 4 days...finally getting fishable today at 4 ft, but time to come home. Got a lot of camp chores done and some great social time with the neighbors, so was a good weekend.

Walleye fishing is slowing down with the cooler weather, so will be concentrating on yellow perch and steelhead the next few weeks.

I do wish you lived closer, stake, would love to get you out there!

I would do that if you can get her to the Pittsburgh area, I don't want her sold for meat. Even though my mother in law got me a duck, its at her house, she's bringing it down this weekend!!! Yay!!! I would still take that Duckie to save her! Unless someone else can!
I am getting bantams from emorems0 if you don't want the duck I would love to have her if you could get her to emorems0. I only have a few ducks and I just am not getting enough duck eggs for my family I have been looking for one or two more ducks and to have one with a blue tinted eggs would be absolutely awesome.
