Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Well, poo. I came out this morning and one of the broodies chicks was lying on its side, dying. I saw it yesterday looking like it was sneezing and breathing through it’s mouth, but I thought it had just eaten the dry food too fast. She was one of the Welbars, which I really hoped to have more of. I have one other Welbar chick left.

One of he other chicks looks like it trying to clear it airway, sneezing and shaking it’s head. I wonder if they got into something poisonous?

And my Cocci chick is dying, I’m sure. I tried to dropper feed her the medication as @Auroradream26 suggested, but I think it may have been too late. :hit

I think I’m going to eat some chocolate and sit on the couch now...
:hugs
I'm sorry, I know it is so frustrating when you try so hard....

Well, the other chick that was acting funny yesterday passsed away over night. Also, this broody is the worst I have ever had. Last night, she was roosting on the highest bar, with only one of her chicks that made it up with her. Thankfully, I have another girl who is going broody, so I just tucked the chicks under her for the night so that they would be warm.

My cocci chick died as well. :hmm I think I will definitely be holding off on any new chicks for a while. Especially with these meat birds. They will need a bigger pen soon.

Well I took away they're last little lamp from over the winter yesterday. Today's all rainy so I'll check on them tomorrow to see if it worked. @LeBlackbird has been saying that it's probably that their day/night cycle is messed up. :fl Just hope this works!

Your little Biele girls are doing so well! They fit right in with the chicks I had and seem to be enjoying the freedom to run around. Do you still have the info from the gentleman that sold them to you? I’m curious about his success rates with them.

The chicks are in the main coop now. When I went in to collect eggs, they came right to me, and acted like I spend more time socializing with them than I do. I think they will be calm layers in a month:fl
:D They are only three-months. I still think I might have eggs from them by the first week of June.

I am almost done with my new website: welbars.com
I still need to put more pictures up, and some pages are a little sparse, but a lot of content is there now. If you have any feedback, let me know.

The website is very nice and much more tablet friendly. I'm really interested to see pictures of zebrinas, which are not there yet. Actually, all birds' photos are missing. These photos are the best advertisement. The contact information is also missing, and I am sure you will add links soon. The current "where to buy" instruction is not very helpful. Also, if you can make the current available list linked to the breed pages, it would be really nice. I remember that you used to have instructions about raising chickens, are you going to add the information here? I think it will help lots of newbies.

I don’t think anyone really likes the new site. My biggest problem is that it doesn’t edit out people’s foul language. The other issues are not constant for me. Though when they come up... :rant
