If you are careful to watch their food intake, and get them outside for exercise (they don’t need as much heat, plus no chick needs constant heat), they actually can live to lay eggs.

i like the raptors but thats another kettle of fish when they kill my chickens i have a pair of red tail hawks here but i also have a mob of crows, i make sure that the crows are well taken care of, they chase the hawks away for me
