If you are only contemplating, this is the wrong place to go. We are going to talk you into every critter imaginable, and many you didn’t know about.

Haha! There's just so much to consider. I'm currently contemplating "How many chickens should I get? I certainly don't need a crazy amount of eggs. It's just two of us in the house... But there are so many awesome breeds I want to raise! Can I raise all different breeds together? Should they all be the same breed? Is there an advantage to all one breed?" Lots of open tabs of Backyard Chickens forums currently... :D :D :D

If you have a griddle, make omelettes, or just the shells, separate with parchment paper, and freeze. I love the convenience!
It’s late (for me). I’ll overwhelm you tomorrow. Tonight I’m just praying the house and trees stay standing!!

HELLO! Greater Philadelphia here, new to the site, and contemplating raising backyard chickens this Spring! :D

Welcome from Cambria county! If you're up for a road trip, my brooders are overflowing with babies right now lol. I'd load you up! Lol, @dheltzel is much closer to you though in Pottstown :)

Oh you can definitely have many different breeds together. I have tiny little Seramas running around with giant English orpingtons, silkies, ameraucanas, and whatever other random flock members there are lol
