Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I only have one hen who loves bugs... Rosie, my retired production red. She will come running for a Japan beetle or stink bug. The other girls act scared, although I have seen them turn into a flock of raptors when they find a frog or a mouse!
I am waiting to hear that Dennis has hatched Welbars. This maybe the year for ducks, but
I want a pond first and a scarecrow that will intimidate hawks!
Getting lots of Welbar eggs now. 9 today from 13 hens, not bad for February! I should have plenty of pullet chicks available starting next month.

I’m jealous of you guys getting eggs.
I just finished looking back at all of my flock history from 8 years. I’ve never had pullets take so long to start laying. I’m still not expecting the older two (year old) to begin for two weeks. I think my girls hate me. They are only pretending to like me for the treats.
