Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

would it be ok to drop in on this meeting to see if it is something I would want to join ?? please post the time when you have it.

I also wonder if I am passing any members when I am driving, maybe we should put together a map of all of us, might as well add what time we all have dinner also.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the club that is being started that is "adult" eligable, is also kid friendly. It does not matter where you live, why you have chickens, or what breed of chickens you have, you can join. The first meeting is 10/28/2012 at the Lebanon Fair grounds. I will have to find the exact time. I am encouraging everybody to join. It is a great opportunity to learn, and network. If we can get more then 30 members, it will be the largest "local" club in the country. So far we are slated for over 50 people. We will be having our own show. The club is called the Lebanon Poultry Fanciers. PM me if you would like anymore information. Thanks!!!
It may be a good idea if you coul remind us all what the club is going to be again please.

See and if you led off with the veganism I would have asked what kind of vegan? Some don't drink milk, some do. Some don't eat eggs, most do. Some eat fish, some don't. Vegan is a broad category if you've ever been around different types of vegans. LOL I learned a lot from a friend! I ask a ton of questions whenever i really don't understand something and she **** near gave me the whole history of Vegans.

Some breeds of chickens lay regularly and produce more than others. Some are dogon cute and that's about what they do they are cute and lay maybe 3 eggs a week. Comets have become my favorite for egg laying. Large-Jumbo eggs and daily. With this they will only lay for roughly two years and slow to a stop. Where others will lay not nearly as often, but will lay for a longer time.
Sorry I missed this!

I am vegan when I'm home. (no dairy at all, no eggs, nothing that came from animal.) All our doughnuts and muffins are vegan, I use almond milk/oat milk. when I go to Starbucks, I always get soy..When I'm out, I'm more realistic that I can't be vegan all the time, so I do it at home or when it's possible when I'm out. You know, unless you live in huge key cities, they make it hard for you and there isn't such a selection. My boys are all pecatarian (eat fish, but no meat from cows, pigs, or any other animal. They also do dairy except my one son who is vegan in that aspect. LOL. I don't know what to call him since he eats fish and no dairy, eggs or meat.) The other boys don't eat meat, or fish, but do dairy (lacto-ovo vegetarianism) I won't let them do vegan, because I feel they still need to much to grow and develop. I told them, they can make that choice when they are 16+ but I won't allow them to make it now. LOL!

I am not one of those preacher types. To each his own. I became vegan/vegetarian May 1, 2012...The boys, since June. My hunk still eats meat, as does my father who lives with us...but they know I will not keep meat in the house, nor will I cook it. So they have to eat meat on their own time. LOL! My dad has his own apartment downstairs, so he keeps it in his fridge. LOL!

Quote: yep got it, waiting to see if you hatch any ducks, still looking for a couple...
sandwich's are fine with me, I grew up in the mountains and dinner was often whatever wandered into the yard, so I guess you could say I will eat anything. or at least try it.
And before you say it Chad, I draw the line at the half incubated chicks, won't even try that...

this is a VERY bad word! We haven't bought our snowblower yet for the new house. Our driveway is super steep. LOL! What happened to our indian summer? It's expected to be like 70 for this week?? Ugh. I REALLY hate the snow..

I live in the wrong region..

We LOVE snow!! After 8 years of living in NC, we were very disappointed last year. I had told my kids over and over about the snow in PA. They think I lied to them....
