I've never seen that kind of tattoo animal, but I would imagine it was anesthetized. Can't imagine a dog sitting still for that, and that's certainly not something I would do. Definitely for "selfish human entertainment".

Dyeing....now that's on the fun side of "selfish human entertainment" that is more harmless.

Tattoos are expensive...where do people get so much extra cash that tattooing the dog is even a consideration?

This is what makes us all so very different.

My mellow cat Tonks was given a 'spa day' that included a bath with sugar free koolaid

This is her just chilling in the warm water bath. She looks like a gremlin, but she wasn't upset at all. Poured cups of water gently over her head while shielding her eyes and ears.

Have anyone here seen the photos of the painted/dyed cats? I would never do it to my cats, they would freak. And from what I could find it cost $15,000 a shot and needs to be redone every three months.

Don't believe everything you read on snopes.com. I am not saying those photos are or aren't doctored. But I have seen snopes make mistakes before, but I can't remember what it was, it was a couple of years ago. But I can believe that people would dye their cats (and other animals) like that.
