I dont know if this is the appropriate place so feel free to move it. Ok, I am very sick right now, with all the nasty stuff that I dont care to actually tell you lol I am being told by everyone that it is because I have a brooder with 14 chicks in my bedroom. I clean it out every 1-3 days depending on if/when they spill their water lol. Ive also got the bator going in my room. Anywho people are telling me I "poisoned" myself. Also, about 4 or 5 days before I got sick, I developed what looks like chicken pox on the left side of my stomach and left arm. The first 2 days they multiplied in the area and now have stayed the same ever since and theyre still on me. I am going to the Dr tomorrow if things dont seem to get any better. What do you guys think? Has anyone had similar experiences? I am moving the chicks out of my room regardless.

lol when we were kids we played with our chickens all day every day and never got sick, and the birds were never medicated for anything. I think you have shingles and your friends are full of beans. We kept the brooder in our bedroom and the incubator on the dining room table and no one was ever ill.

Yeah, I've had shingles and it isn't a pleasant experience. It's like having the flu and the chicken pox all at the same time, except the red bumps are extremely painful. It is usually brought on by stress. Not fun, I really do sympathize with you, if you are really stressed over something, talk it out, get help with the situation! Prayers on the way for you!!

would shingles only have the rash in one spot? its not spreading at all....it just stays the same, plus i had chicken pox as a kid.....does shingles come with flu-like symptoms?

I haven't had shingles, but it sounds like good possibility. I think the rash can be just in one or two places. I understand shingles is the result of the chicken pox virus that stays dormant in the body after your first bout being stirred up by stress.

If it were your chicks, then I would expect a respiratory infection from dust and not a rash like that.

if its on your arm also..i dont think its shingles....and they would be VERY painful as they run in your nerve lines...shingles are mostly on your trunk/back/side area....not on the arms....BUT shiingles does usually stay on one side of the body..so..i dont know...but if its not really painful, its not shingles...maybe Hives?

hmmm....well they are not painful just itchy....the only pain i can think of is the last couple days (on and off) ive felt like i am bruised and was achey but not like a normal flu it felt more like if i moved the wrong way my bones would snap in half or something.....but sometimes ill get where a part of me feels really bruised and then later goes away. wierd.
