people with house chickens

This is Mr Cotton! There's already a frontal picture posted somewhere! Silkie Roo!

This is Martha Mae our Moran Hen!

This is My Molly! Silkie Hen!

This is Marvin! Our Moran Rooster!

This is Dorothy where I had her out in the yard for some sun. She's a RIR. She's the one with the hole in her eardrum! She's under medication care and good loving right now!

And Maria! Silkie hen! Daddys one pound wonder! There's an ice pack underneath the fuzzy rug and that's her pink baby blanket she snuggles under on the side of her! She stays nice and comfortable with the coolness of the ice pack under her!

They're all adorable!!! Silkies are so cute.

Yep, and in June it will be one year since we started. Everyone is doing good, I think we might bring the chicks outside today!

He is about 8 months old, and yeah, a bantam. While the girls were out today I brought him out in a cage and they didnt seem to notice each other. I dont want him outside all of the time- he is still my inside baby!

So sad he is a bantam. Too bad he can't have a couple bantam pullets with him because it's so confining to be alone and the bigger girls will mincemeat him currently. If you get him a couple pullets to socialize with they all can eventually be put in the LF flock if the LF aren't heavy breeds 6-lb or over. But even then with reservations. Your little guy needs friends and mature LF are not friendly to bantams of any breed. How did you wind up mixing bantams in a LF mix?

How is it sad? He lives inside with two dogs and he has a happy, healthy life. I dont want him outside unless im right there and he is in his pen. He is imprinted on me, and even at this age he still follows me around the house. He wont be good outside- I do everything to make him happy, and I know he wont be outside, even with lots of girls. For now, he gets to see a few chicks through wire inside.

PBGG: Don't take Sylvester too strongly! He's a tender heart and thinks everything should be with their own kind! I have the house chickens that don't want to be around other chickens either!

Dad makes a good substitute for a Silkie with his soft beard! LOL Maria loves snuggling underneath his chin!

Can anyone share what they feed their chickens on a daily basis other then grit pellets or scratch feed. Any non chicken food that won't hurt their crop? Thanks!!
