I have a quick question about Sunni. What do I use to clean her when she makes a mess of her tail feathers? I have just been washing her under the sink with warm water and then blow drying her, but that doesn't get rid of the smell. Can you use soap?? Or does that break down the feathers? She is starting to get really smelly.

Hmm, that's a good question. I guess you could just get a towel with warm water and wipe it off. I keep pine or aspen bedding in my chickens' cage and that keeps them smelling nice.

Ok so I was at my chicken coop and one of my golden comets wagged its tale fethers like a dog

I love it when my chickens do that! Isn't it so adorable?! And when they do it the my scrunch down their heads and get all poofy.

I've used soap on Trina's poopy butt feathers if they get REALLY bad, but I try to limit it. Nice smelling baby wipes work pretty well for everyday though, you can use them to clean initially and/or to wipe after washing with water for a fresher smell.
