people with house chickens

Oh; thank god....about sunni

Oh and Hi Froggie!!! Long time no talk.

and Kuku = I still love that video of Taco. I still think of it. I want a little Serama soo bad now, just because of that video.
LOL I love that he had such an impact on you! You should totally get one. Too bad you are in washington, I have 5 roos from a hatch of 6! You can HAVE them! LOL
Well... all but Sylvester, he's my baby lol. They are just the perfect little toy size though lol

Quote: I promise you my next one will be a Serama. i have three roosters right now and only 6 hens. So I am trying to keep the peace. And I have plans to hatch out a few more babies in the Spring, so I already know like 90% will be Roosters Its just Murphys Law. Or McMurrays Law with chickens. Ha ha. I caught my boys squaring off and they looked like upside down umberellas with their cape feathers all spread out wide. It reminded me exactly of an unfolded umbrella. Right now Ican yell atthem and break up any fights. They all work in conjunctionwith each other. But they do have all their own fave hens so right now all is well. Im not sure if they have sons will they still be ok with them. i can just see my yard next fall with dog outdoor kennels all over because I am too sentimental to getrid of my boys. Its chicken math rules. Once they have names, they are family and they stay....My boys come in and I wrap them up in baby blankets....they each have their own. Early has a pink one (dont tell his brothers) Roody has a blue one with teddy bears, and Sammy Sam has a turqoise one with a ducky on it. They are such big babies, when they get scared they suck on their tongues like a baby with a binky...still though they do a super job watching the girls so can't conmplain. My boys are girly so what

Awww how did I miss these pictures....Now I can finally see how cute they are. Spring is never gonna get here. How are you holding up? My Guineas don't even seem to realize one is missing. I know this is going to sound morbid and I apologize but I can't bear to bury it yet. I stuck it in the big game freezer. The ground is frozen solid here and I want to bury it, not throw it in the trash like garbage....hope your doing ok.....It sucks to lose a little one.

I have a German Spitzhauben. We don't know exactly whats wrong with her. She may have mereks disease or a sprain/dislocation. So she will be an indoor Hen for a while. She so sweet we might just keep her indoors forever!
If she survives.
Hi Shelby,
Hope your baby is doing ok. It has been a crappy week here for losing birds. I think between close calls and actual losses all of us on here have been affected this week. Keep us posted and well be crossing our fingers (and feathers) for you.

I'm afraid I have more bad news

Mama and Snowy are ok, but Junior is missing. I'm thinking either a Hawk or something else got him.
Hi crickett,
Its been eleven hours since you posted and I realize some people do sleep, but was just hoping that by now your Junior has been found. That is just a gut wrenching feeling when a bird is missing. When the hawk attacked my flock two days ago, i came out to feed dinner and couldn't find about half of my birds and only two Guineas. Luckily the chickens were found immediately but it took an hour to find the 8 remaining Guineas. They had taken to the blackberry brambles and the potted ivy and were laying low thank god. But I ramble, Im a night owl....So just hoping you will post in the am and let us know he is safe. Have a good night....
