For quite a while, I've tossed around this idea of crossing a sebright, d'uccle, OEGB, and serama together to create the "perfect bantam mutt". The results of this cross would be exactly 1/4 sebright, 1/4 d'uccle, 1/4 OEGB, and 1/4 serama. However, until today, I had only one of the chickens required to make this cross: a black breasted red old english game bantam. But, today, I just acquired two serama/d'uccle cockerels and a serama/d'uccle pullet! Of course, it will still be a long time before my project is completed, mainly because I currently have the room for maybe two more chickens, at the most. I also have been having trouble finding a silver sebright hen, which I would need to cross to my black breasted red OEGB rooster. So, for now, I'll just share pictures of my serama/d'uccles as they grow, as well as my OEGB rooster. I am sure that I will eventually have the means to complete this project, and when I do, I will definitely post lots of pictures of my "perfect bantam" cross!

(**I am not trying to create a new breed or anything, I just want to experiment with crossbreeding and hopefully create some pretty bantam mutts**)

My serama/d'uccles!

The pullet's name is Popcorn, the lighter cockerel's name is Peanut (I might change his name later), and the darker cockerel is unnamed as of now. Peanut unfortunately has some sort of small breastbone deformity, so he can't be used for breeding.

The serama/d'uccle mixes meeting Ares (OEGB roo) and Olive (faverolle mix hen), which they will hopefully live with in the future.

And, finally, here's Ares the OEGB cockerel:

So pretty!!!! the only thing is those serama/D'uccles look more like OEG/d'uccles…..could be wrong though....
You could be right, going by those pink legs and the stance of the bigger cockerel. But, when I crossed a d'uccle and a serama, I also got a chicken with pink legs. These chickens are also much smaller than my tiny OEGB cockerel, though it's kinda hard to tell in the pictures. Also, if this changes anything, here's a picture of the parents:

Here he is. Mom is a molted Cochin bantam and dad is buff Brahma bantam. His feathers look like silver in the pictures but they are actually gold. View attachment 1465659View attachment 1465660View attachment 1465661View attachment 1465662
Beautiful! Mottled crosses are always quite unique looking.
