July 13th-

I lost Penguin and was searching for her for about 40 minutes (with Mico's help, of course). It turns out she got scared by a bunch of rowdy dogs and flew over the garage onto the side street. I heard her calling for Mico and easily caught her.

Mico crowing (this was while Penguin was missing. He was crowing a lot more than he usually does.)

Today-

Sparrow and Eclipse haven't tried to peck me again, but Sparrow still acts in an aggressive way when I'm around.
Despite the OEGBs being brats, this batch of chicks has been one of my friendliest. They run up to me while free ranging and jump on my lap for treats. Mico has started to really mature and tidbits just like Cheeto. He also defends Penguin from Sparrow's rough attempts at mating.

Penguin posed for me today! She usually isn't a fan of getting her picture taken. Fortunately, she isn't so frantic about being separated from Mico anymore.

Mico!

Sparrow, the adorable brat

Eclipse, who isn't so bald anymore. His behavior is a bit confusing; he's the first to come to me for treats, but also dances up to me in the usual aggressive cockerel way. However, when I reach to grab him, he dashes away.

Cheeto and the hens. Notice the difference of the tails of Bandit (purebred d'uccle) and Popcorn (serama/d'uccle).

August 11th-

Mico started picking on Penguin. :/ He was pecking her on the back repeatedly; not hard enough to pull out feathers. I think he's trying to figure out how to mate. I put him with the hens. Eclipse and Penguin are the only ones in the chick pen. I'm almost certain I heard Eclipse shriek and saw him dashing away from Penguin, but I could've been mistaken... Her tail was pointed up and fanned, like Popcorn when she dominates the cockerels. I also noticed that Penguin's comb has gotten bigger, but I didn't get a picture.

Bad Mico. He's gotten big (compared to my other bantams) and is as tall as Cheeto.

How can I stay mad at that face?

Cheeto and Mico. Cheeto isn't happy about his stubby tail.
