Pet Peeves

My pet peeve is English motorways 😳 tyre blow outs, just ppl thinking about themselves! Crashing! Breaking down! How dare they! Check your tyres, oil and water before you leave! Be a bit considerate. Oh and petrol/diesel!

I have this every other week, it adds hours to my journey!

Yep, every time I see poor sucker broke down I pull over and rant on their *** :lau
You actually don’t need to rant on their…just think…tw&t simple, I make sure my car is road worthy, it’s not rocket science! If my tyres are bald..I could have a blow out, so yes..that “poor sucker” could be responsible? Maybe 🤪

I was playing. Sometimes I cannot help myself. :p I will say though that some break downs just happen no matter how well you keep your vehicle up. Blow outs on tires can be caused by a number of things and vehicles and their parts though very well made now days are still man made and will fail. And, just the fact that some people may not have the funds to keep their car in tip top shape. There are of course people that are like you are describing that are just lazy or careless. I doubt anyone wants to break down, though. I keep my vehicles up, and am always grateful not to be the one on the side of the road. I always stop to see if I can help especially if it is a female and/or children. That is not to say women cannot handle the situation, but it is just a fact of life that women are more at danger in most situations then most men will be. It is a man's duty to help and protect. I may get blasted for that statement but I stand by it.

Good for you.

I do not mean to turn this into a milk thread 😆but I have been doing the 2% and even the 1% if it is available for awhile now just to try to keep it healthy as possible. The same reason I do half and half on tea. I was the same way when I first got off the whole milk. What I found out for me is that is just what I get used to. So, now if I drink whole milk it is almost just too much.
I grew up on raw milk, straight from the cows on my family farm. Loved the stuff. Now I drink skim or 1% but would love to go back to raw. My hubby wouldn't drink it though, he thinks it's gross

I Couldn’t agree more, and I think that is a lovely statement. You sound like a true Gentleman 😁 It is more HGV vehicles, that piddle me off, the amount of tyres that are left at the side of our motorway’s is shocking, you can see the string, so they are badly worn down. They are nightmare drivers, also drivers that undercut and speed, they mostly belong to businesses and think they own the road. I have an 8 hour round trip I do, twice on a weekend, and these breakdowns can put another 3-4 hours on my journey 🤦‍♀️ We have smart motorways (no hard shoulder or anywhere to stop if you do break down) on the M5 and M6, it’s ridiculous. I can honestly say I have not seen a family with kids etc broken down, it always seems to be commercial vehicles. Who should by our laws, keep their vehicles road worthy. I do feel sorry for the every day Joe (esp in the rain ☹️) who I see has broken down…but again, it is probably these HGV’s, Van drivers (who have caused the long tailbacks)….so their engines have probably overheated!! It sounds terrible, but I have no sympathy for ppl who can’t afford to keep their cars road worthy…get a push bike…cars kill. Anyway, I must get a move on…I have that lovely journey today 😅 :lau

I thought caravans were the bane of British motorways? or is that only on B roads?
