Pet Peeves

I do not know how accurate this is, but when my dad was sick his oncologist suggested replacing his normal table salt with sea salt to help lower his cholesterol. Maybe someone here will know if that is a true thing or not.
It could be. Because of the amount of salt we eat, and most of it iodized, it's possible he was getting an iodine overdise.

My favorites are the medications where one of the side effects is the very thing the medication is supposed to cure.
Or when they say “do not take if allergic to this medication” just to cover their butts! Like no 💩!!! lol or when the side effects start out mild like headache, vomiting, then suddenly jump to DEATH!!! 😂😭

Yes, but try to make sure it is good quality Celtic sea salt or Himalayan sea salt. All salt comes from the sea, so companies will sometimes call salt “sea salt” after stripping it. Pure sea salt should be light pink or grey.

You sure he didn’t say blood pressure? There is really no connection with cholesterol and salt. There is a connection between high blood pressure and too much salt.

And, the reason so many possible side effects are listed with medication is because someone taking the medication while in the process of getting it approved claimed it. Medications go through years of study, tests, and trials before being approved. So, it sounds scary, and sometimes even crazy, when you hear all those possible side effects, but that is why the list is so long and sometimes so outlandish. And, yes, people will start a lawsuit really fast so they have to try to cover themselves. But, it is mainly because they have to list the side effect because those are the rules.

This is true, mostly. I say mostly because it has to be a good quality sea salt. I use Redmond's pure salt. Mined from an ancient sea bed in Utah. It has all the trace minerals still in it and no fillers. Most table salts have fillers added in and some even put dextrose in their salt!
