PHISHING POP UP?

I'm using a windows laptop and experienced this earlier today. I also browse from a Chrome browser on my phone (not the app) and suddenly there is ALWAYS an ad at the bottom of every page. That's annoying. Does the site set-up yearly donations to keep ad revenue down? (I'm new here).

I merged these two threads since they are related.

Thank you for the screenshots and details, we've escalated the issue to our team to find and hopefully remove / block these ads ASAP!
Thank you so much! I disabled javascript on safari and so far haven’t had a redirect (hopefully not jinxing it). It’s not a permanent fix and you lose a lot of ease of navigation, but it works.

Myself and other users were having problems with the same pop-up probably six months ago and worked with the staff and I guess it was corrected because I haven’t gotten any while. But I will say that my daughter gets it on websites on her phone and she’s not a BYC member and I get them on other websites also. So I don’t think it’s necessarily a problem with BYC. But definitely get with staff they helped clear it up last time

When we were trying to Figure out the problem we were comparing what we were using to connect with BYC. Some people were using an android phone some people were using an iPhone and some people were on their computers. At least for that case it didn’t seem to matter what device we were using we were all getting the message

Over the last week or so, byc has been random redirecting to a very scammy and obviously fake amazon giveaway site. I’m in safari on an iPhone and it ONLY happens on byc. I’ve looked the problem up and apple is adamantly saying it’s not a virus so I’m just confused. It interrupts me mid page or while typing and I have to reload the whole website. Earlier it got so bad I couldn’t stay on for more than 30 seconds so I gave up and installed the app (which, no offense, I don’t really prefer..) Now, knock on wood, I’ve been on here for 5 minutes and it hasn’t happened yet. Is this an iPhone problem or a byc problem? Has this ever happened to anyone else? It’s super annoying!
Yes that’s exactly what’s happening with me

My phone is an iPhone 6, using safari, and my computer is a dell running windows 10 and google chrome for the browser. I haven’t tried a different search engine but since it’s happening on 2 devices that basically is the same thing. Clicking on anything on this website would trigger the redirect. Sometimes just when scrolling through a thread it would happen.

As I'm reading this thread I clicked 2 posts to quote. These popups happened before I could do anything and has popped up on 2 more times as I type. Yes it has happened in the past. I am on a galaxy s8 and have no idea what browser, its whatever came with the phone. Picture #1 shows the way the popup shows up with another underneath. I hit back to reveal #2 which will not allow me to go back. I have to minimize my tabs at the bottom and then delete the page.

:goodpost:

What Cryss did is the right way to handle it. Don't click on any options in these popups. If all else fails and your browser is stuck/hijacked, force quit your browser.

Ok, I think we found the offending ad-networks and cut them off.

There's always a chance that some of the ads might still be served to you if your browser "cached" the code, but hopefully they won't be getting through.

This is a game of whack-a-mole where we find bad ads, block them, and others try to pop up.

Thanks for your help in identifying these and your patience as we work to get rid of them.
