I'm thinking of crossing my Phoenix rooster with my barred Cochin, Silver fayoumi & Sicilian Buttercup for fun.
I've learned a tiny bit of chicken genetics, and want to know what their chicks might look like.

I think the phoenix/cochin cross should be sex-linked with feathered legs.
The fayoumi & buttercup crosses will not be sex-linked because fayoumis and buttercups don't have the barring gene.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. I am still very new to chicken genetics.

You are mostly correct!

The Phoenix X Cochin chicks will be pretty typical black sex links. Pullets will be black, probably with some gold and red leakage in the hackle and breast, and cockerels will be single Barred - probably with a wee bit of red leakage as well. They should be sexable at hatch as males will have a dot and females will not. And yes, they should have some cute lil feathered legs.

Phoenix X Fayoumi will actually be sex linked as well - rather than being black sex links, like those created using a solid male X barred female, they will be red sex links, that is created using the Silver (S, s+) gene. While they may not be sexable at hatch, they should obvious within a few weeks. The overall pattern will probably be muddled penciling, but the "base color" will be either silver (cockerels) or gold (pullets).

Phoenix X Buttercup will look the same as the PhxFay chicks but all will be gold (s+) based regardless of gender.

I just thought I would share some pictures of my Phoenix/Dominique chicks that hatched. Sorry the pictures are a little blurry. Dad is a duckwing Phoenix and mom is a bantam Dominique. I can't wait to see how they turn out.

Here's 3 of my phoenix/thai. Their father was a white phoenix and mother was a yellow blackish thai hen.
The black pullet in the back is a frizzle bearded polish/thai/EE/Gamefowl, so she has the frizzle bearded genes.

Here is my other posted that my broody hen just hatch 4 weeks ago. White Bantam Phoenix cross with Porcelain D'uccle/White Frizzle Cochin Bantam. They are feathered feet. Looking like both pullets, but I might wrong about one.
