No, the Coolpix L830 does not support RAW. Jpeg compression only unless you put it into diagnostic mode (and that's way too much work for a point and shoot)It may not be called RAW but you should have an option to save the undeveloped files. For Nikon it is called NEF. You are in the section that defines which size you save your jpegs as. The NEF option will be found in the section where you choose it or jpeg or both.
I only shoot in RAW! Love it!The other Nikon we have does have a RAW option.
Is that your African Gray?I only shoot in RAW! Love it!
Yes, that's Levi my 6 year old CAG. I have a better picture, (actually my fave) on my profile page. It only took Levi about two weeks to start chirping like a baby chicken. Is that your African Gray?
No. Everything I've learned is from just playing around with my cameras, and maybe reading some out of the owner's manual once in a great while. Why are you asking?Did you take a camera/picture class somewhere?

The right one isn't that bad. The feet is cut off, but if you're just looking for a good enough picture to show off the bird, that would be good. The left one is good for full body plus good background, but the bird's face is hidden, and the positioning isn't good. I wouldn't really show that picture around, unless you didn't have any other pictures of him, or you was trying to show something about his position. (Eggsample: An unhealthy hen might hold herself in that position when pecking the ground instead of letting her whole body slide down comfortably. It's a sign of water belly at a distance.)

Does this beauty have a name?
