Yes, you can still see the outline. A bit more blending should get you there. Use the clone tool to match the wood grain in the posts, and the healing tool on the bird and you can probably get away with it from there.Is this edit to obvious? I edited off some grass that was hanging in by his face.

Yes and no. Lighten it up. The drama you're after is in there, but it's so dark it's hard to tell. Kick it up and play a bit with the contrast and I think you'll get there. You want your light level to be a little more than halfway back to the original.Do you guys think that this is too much editing? Here is the original:
