Back button focus is different than the AF/MF. I have been on a couple of workshops where they talk about BBF for wildlife photography, but using a Nikon. On a Canon I think they call it something else in the camera manual. I am still confused about what it is for. :hmm

"Instead, the action of focusing is moved to a button on the back of the camera – usually the AF-On button. Back button focus separates the focus and shutter release functions, moving the former to the AF-On button at the rear of the camera."
I read this off the internet. I guess I need to do more Googling on the subject.
Thanks for trying to help. :)
Ok. I did find something on my camera earlier that might be a little helpful.... Hopefully. Look below:

On the Manual setting, click the Q button. You should be where the picture is below. There's AF. Push the SET button.

Now you should be in this picture below. Using the left and right buttons around the SET button, you can go to which setting you want. Push the SET button when you have what you want, push the Q button, and you should be good to go. :)

The above pictures of everything was taken with my mirror opened. It should be the same with the mirror closed. (I might have the closed and open mixed up; whatever it was, I could see what I was taking a picture of through the actual screen.) If not, you might need to use the buttons around the SET button to get to the AF.

I do suggest you do further research, just because this Back Button Focus is actually new to me. This is probably the most helpful advice I might be able to give.: When you do your research, make sure you are researching with your camera's make and model. That will make the information that you're searching for much easier to find. ;)
