I’ve had both a flock of males and females. I like eggs so I’m sticking with hens but I never had any problems with my boys. Boys are quiet and tend to be calmer. If they are raised together there really shouldn’t be aggression problems with each other.
No, I’m not a proponent of 1:1. Either have 2 males or 2 females.But still, you should always remember to keep a healthy ratio. 1 drake for about 5 hens. But if she sticks with getting 2, 1 drake and 1 hen would be fine. Just always remember that they will fight over the hens if the ratio has too many drakes...
