A partridge silkie? What's that? I don't know, I just call her a buff silkie? She's very cuddly.

I put him in a run by himself, so he rushes to greet me whenever I go to the pen.

I've been looking for a thread like this for a while!!

My family and I went to tractor supply for a few silkies, (As me and Mom really wanted some) we came there five minutes too early, so we sat around, waiting for the delivery truck. A woman who works at Tractor Supply came in carrying a box full of bantams, we walked up as she was opening up the box to put them in the bin. She told my Mom that they were supposed to be delivered yesterday, but someone had left the poor things in the truck, with no food, water, or heat. (keep in mind that this was around April) The fist thing you saw when you looked into the box was......Two dead chicks!!! I felt so bad for the poor things. She brought and the ones that would probably make it, and a few that didn't look so hot. Mom turned to me and said: "You know if we get some of these chicks, you won't be able to get any silkies off the internet" (Not her exact words, but around that line) And I told her that I didn't care if I got silkies off the internet. (And in my thoughts) These little things needed us! so we searched and found four chicks who weren't silkies (Gah!) and we found the one chick in that entire shipment that was a silkie. We took them home, and put them in a bathroom with some food and water. We decided to name the silkie Lucky, because he was Lucky to be alive. here's a picture of him as a chick!

And, Ironically, he turned out to be a rooster! So we had to give him away xD actually, we had to give all but two away! (3 went to be breeding roos (Including Lucky) and 1 died

R.I.P Holly!! You had just gotten your name too!) Heres a pic of a teenage Lucky:

haha, little thing used to bite, like literally bite, I didn't even know chickens could do that!

this coming up spring we're going to try to get silkie hens, if anyone knows a good place on the internet, please PM me!

Well, if you mean, from hatcheries, Ideal Poultry has some of THE BEST silkies ever. They are sweet, show quality, and they don't have a minimum order, if I remember correctly, you can get as few as you want. Otherwise, look around on ebay and oodle marketplace. I've seen some there, before. Craigslist also has the ocasional silkie chicken. Good luck finding your silkie pal. Thanks for posting on my silkie thread.
