Start with a shoebox and cut out a square in the top.

Then trace around the light fixture that your gonna put in . It should be traced around the area where the ligtht bulb will go the middle and the base and plug will not be in the incubator Just the middle and bulb. Cut it out .

throw a thermomtere
in there

and add the lamp like so

find some plastic and paste the tope on with glue. ( i used too much but hey everthiongs better with glue ! )

get a little container with water

nad put it in

put your eggs in srew the bulb plug it in ( oh dont forget connect it to a thermostat firt ans set it at 101

Very creative.. I would be very careful with it being cardboard (as it may catch fire) and carboard wont hold humidity or heat in well at all... I would maybe suggest wrapping the whole thing in alum inum foil ....

remember guess temps wont get out of wach and cause fire with my good old trust thermostat which i dont have i need to but one. Will sumtime this week before using it again. Humidity actually holds pretty darn well and i dint even tape the two holes i made for the lamp and the other one . its at 60 % . Better than expected bulb gets hotter than desired so i must buy thermostat ! I need to buy one from the us cuz one here costs 37.5o us dollars ( its the same in bahamain dollars ) Any1 have a thermostat they'd be willing to sell me ?

I really admire your creativity and innovation in using common everyday things in your quest to make an incubator. I believe the incubator would work if it weren't made from paper. Paper is not a good insulator nor is it able to hold any humidity without degrading. The process of making the paper/cardboard the shoebox makes it very, very, flammable. Not to mention it may give off toxic fumes when heated with the light bulb.

I have noticed that in your previously posted incubator concepts they all have 1 thing in common. They are ALL a huge fire possibility. Think of all the house fires caused by toasters being too close to a flammable material, hair dryers also. Many house fires are also caused by the heat from a common light bulb when the lamp its in is covered with a piece of paper or cloth. I feel that you are very smart and similar to Einstein, both are very lacking in one important life element, COMMON SENSE.

OK . I GOTCHA . DID I MENTION I GOTCHA I THINK I DID . lol Uh ok so what do you suggest i do . Is there a way i make it uhmm what you call it uhmm isolated yeah like lining th Walls and bottom with .... Styrofoam yea that way its still a shoebox but with styrofoam !!!! What do you suggest ?
